The KING COCONUT LODGE is a private villa located in the small, sprawling village of Habaraduwa on the south coast of Sri Lanka. Surrounded by coconut palms, you can enjoy the tranquility of nature amidst a spacious tropical garden. Here you can experience various animals such as monkeys, parrots, kingfishers, turtles, monitor lizards and different gecko species up close. A beautiful large pool with jacuzzi and a swimming area for children ensures the right holiday feeling. Taking care of nature we generate clean electricity by means of a modern photovoltaic system. The lodge consists of 4 units, grouped around a small courtyard. In an open kitchen, you can let our team cook for you or try your own cooking skills. The common kitchen is equipped with full crockery, glasses, refrigerator, gas stove and toaster. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, large beds, mosquito net and private bathroom. While the inner courtyard is well suited to sharing the day's experiences, the respective private terraces to each of the rooms are a place to retreat and relax.
The KING COCONUT LODGE was built with modern aspects using local materials and building practices. The typical asbestos roof was waived in favor of a beautiful wooden tile roof. All rooms are tiled and equipped with custom wood furniture. The beds were specially designed for European sizes (7ft x 7ft). The entrance doors to each room have been artistically carved by a local artist, each matching the name of the room.

Within walking distance of the secluded lodge, you will find picturesque sandy beaches right on the Indian Ocean. At the same time, you can walk to one of Sri Lanka's largest lakes, Koggala Lake, and enjoy a boat trip. The lodge is an ideal base for day trips to the Yale and Uda Walawe National Parks, with its abundant wildlife and elephants. The famous Sinharaja Rainforest (UNESCO heritage) is easily accessible; as well as the popular bay of Unawatuna and the historically shaped provincial capital Galle. In Galle with the restored Dutch Fort, you can shop extensively in many colorful shops or try different restaurants and cafes. The highlands around Ella, from where you have beautiful panoramic views, can be reached in about 3-4 hours. To round off your itinerary, we offer attractive tours to the north (Kandy, Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, Polonaruwa) and other parts of the country through a reliable local tour operator.
In October 2015, the former Koggala Air Base opened a 9-hole golf course, located 100m from the beach and 2km from the lodge, giving you a completely new golfing experience.
Giant turtles can be seen at Wijaya Beach, about 10 minutes away by tuk-tuk, in shallow water. For whale and dolphin watching you drive about 30 minutes to Mirissa and climb there on the ship, which brings you into their habitats.
Within a 10-minute tuk-tuk ride, guests can find a variety of local and international restaurants and shops.
